Bran Castle was called like that by the name of a village built all along the commerccial road who used to be the meeting place between Wallachia and Transylvania, road situated on the interior side of a mountain pass borded by two massive mountains:Bucegi Mountains and Piatra Craiului Mountains.
Bran Castle was one of the favourite places of Queen Maria whih hart was found kept into a silver case and hided in one of the walls of the construction.
The castle was royal residence on summer(untill 1974) and in present it shelters a museum with pictures, sculptures, carpets, furniture.

On 22 August, 1875, the foundation for Peleş Castle, the city of Sinaia, and indeed for the country of Romania itself was established.
Peleş Castle was designed in the neo-Renaissance style, first by German architect Wilhelm Doderer and later by Johannes Schultz (1876-1883).

Set in a large park, which is landscaped in the English fashion, Peles Castle outwardly resembles a Bavarian Schloss as it nestles amongst the trees with the mountains in the background.
We were able to take a tour of just some of the 106 rooms the castle contains, slipping the obligatory felt overshoes on our feet to protect the floors and the carpets.
