MARBURY CORNERS, Ginsburg Development’s new complex of 66 lofts, town houses and condo flats near the small business district of this densely populated southern Westchester community, has been named a finalist by the National Association of Home Builders in its “Best Smart Growth” category of annual awards.
Scinta, who earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Syracuse University and is now selling real estate, said the village had sought to embrace the New Urbanist philosophy of development, which extols walkable communities consisting of residences situated near stores and entertainment venues.
She asserted that village officials had been so intent on building the infill project that they failed to consider the needs of nearby residents.

The Town of Pelham had been established as a political identity, covering the present Township and also a large area of what is now the East Bronx, including Pelham Bay Park, and City Island, which was the chief village.
Between 1826 and the 1880s nearly 100 independent railroads were constructed in southern New England according to a "History of the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad" prepared by the Thomas J. Dodd Research Center of the University of Connecticut Libraries.
One of the early homes built in the new and soon to be growing New York City suburb of Pelhamville was the Old Stone House that still stands at 463 First Avenue, corner of 6th Street.
