Pelister is the first national park in the former Yugoslavia, it was proclaimed on November 24, 1948.The area of the park encircles 12520ha of which: 3730ha is strictly protected zone, 5480ha is tourist and amenity zone, and 3310ha is the irrigation zone.
Out of the forest types on Pelister, the most valuable is the molika (Pinus peuce), autochthonous species of a five-leaved pine tree, which is one of the most important and most interesting bio-geographical, ecological, and vegetation phenomena on the Balkan Peninsula.
On the territory of the National Park Pelister there are locus classics of more than 20 plant species, out of which 13 taxons have kept their taxonomic status: Alchemilla peristerica, Centaurea deustiformis, Crocus pelistericus, Dianthus myrtinervius, Festuca peristerica, Pedicularis orthantha, Pinus peuce, Ranunculus psilostachys, Sedum erythraeum, Sempervivum octopodes, Silene ventricosa, Viola velutina, and Viola orphanidis.

The Pelister massif is a part of Mount Baba, located in the Southwest Macedonia.
It was promoted into national park in 1948 because of its natural beauties: molika (the Tertiary flora relict) forests, granite rocks, and its morphologic relief, particularly the glacial one in the alpine area of the mountain.
The park is particularly attractive for its mountain lakes: Golemo (at 2,218 m of altitude) and Malo (2,280 m).

These are the Pelister national park, Mavrovo national park, Mount Galicica and Jasen national park.
In 1948, Pelister national park near the town of Bitola, became the first national park in Macedonia.
It covers an area of about 1,600 hectares, and the five-needle pine (also known as Pelister pine), is the only such variety in the world.

Mitko stojkovski has wanted to take over Pelister for a long time and i think he is the right man, and if Micevski, Dimov and V.Mcevski are involved too then or clb will be in good hands.
Maybe in short term this is good news for Pelister, but it's always tricky when a city owns a club, politicians change and priorities change etc...Pelister needs in the future a private owner that has money and some good sponsors.
The club is owned by the city and it has always been owned by the city, the local goverment then appoints a commitee, who run the club.
