Pellestrina is a thin strip of land that stretches for 11 kilometers suspended between the sea and the lagoon.
Pellestrina is still protected from the vehemence of the sea from one of the most sturdy barriers that the Serenissima Republic of Venice was able to build to save the city: the Murazzi.
An interesting itinerary is developed from the terminal to the far end of the artificial harbor that leaves open the connection between Venice and the sea, immerging one’s attention into horizons typical of the lagoon and of the old fishermen’s villages of the Littoral of the Cavallino.

Pellestrina, an island in the Venetian lagoon situated between Venice and Chioggia (Veneto – Italy), is a small natural paradise.
Everyone was invited to participate in the project, creating through this ancient technique, a fragment that represents the whole; or making a personal contribution according to each ones own abilities, contributing to the accomplishment of the goal: the project looks to involve the greatest part of the population, from all age groups.
The project "A Record for Pellestrina", was initiated last summer, on the occasion of the participation of the Fondazione at the 51st International Exhibition of Art, the Venice Biennale, it will end with an event, which takes place on the island of Pellestrina, June 2007, during the 52nd edition of the Venice Biennale.

Pellestrina was the most narrow of the three islands which bordered the lagoon and was the first to undergo replenishment.
