Meals at Pembroke are either formal (three courses with wine, smart dress and gowns) or informal (buffet, casual).
Meals are served in college throughout term time, and lunches, to a limited extent, will be provided for students staying on during the vacations.

On October 27, Oxford University announced that its disciplinary committee had recommended that Professor Andrew Wilkie be suspended for two weeks without pay for his rejection of an Israeli graduate student, Amit Duvshani, solely because of his nationality.
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) today urged Oxford University to investigate a professor’s rejection of a graduate student for an internship solely because he was an Israeli.
In a letter to Oxford’s Vice Chancellor, ADL urged the University to take a strong stand in support of academic freedom and fairness and against an act of discrimination and bias.

The Foundress of the College was Mary de St Pol, daughter of Guy de Chatillon and wife of Aymer de Valence, Earl of Pembroke; and it was on Christmas Eve 1347 that Edward III granted her the licence for the foundation.
Both the founding of the College and the building of the chapel - the first College chapel in Cambridge - required the grant of a Papal Bull.
It was on the recommendations of these counsellors that Henry undertook the foundation of Pembroke's great academic neighbour, King's College; he also made significant gifts to Pembroke, including the manor and advowson of Soham.
