		However, during the first ever meeting hosted by the Penama provincial council in Port Vila to speak to their people residing in town, an emphasis was placed on the fact that Penama people are very individualistic.
		Penama council officials were here to meet with their people in town and explain development projects taking place in Penama, and at the same time seek help from their people in Port Vila.
		The Penama provincial council members performed the traditional ceremony of mat exchange with the three chiefs of Penama in Port Vila as a sign of their call for the unity of their people here.

		The Australian high commission donated VT114,000 worth of garden tools to the Penama Provincial Council on Ambae to be used as prizes for Penama's agriculture and trade show at Saratamata last week.
		When presenting the tools, the Australian high commissioner John Pilbeam said Australia was pleased to assist the Penama province initiative of an agriculture and Trade Show, which was consistent with Australia's commitment to assisting the development of communities and the productive sectors in remote rural areas.
		Penama council's secretary general Augustine Garae said the agriculture and trade show would demonstrate the results of initiatives from last year's business forum.

		The health promotion officer, Jean Jacques Rory says that the decision to allow Penama to host the event is part of the initiative taken by the department to decentralise its activities.
