Crews are supposed to record license plates of drivers who intentionally track paint, who weave between the paint truck and "shadow trucks" that provide spacing for the lines to dry a bit or who scheme to claim damages.
Also this fall, PennDOT plans to award the contract and do preliminary work on the "missing ramps" at the I-79/Parkway West interchange, a $70 million project that won't interfere with traffic before 2008, when the contractor ties ramps into highway mainlines.
PennDOT currently is making $3 million in repairs to I-79 bridges over the Ohio River and ramps to and from Route 65 at Glenfield, work restricting lanes but not inconveniencing drivers a lot.

At his news conference today, Casey is expected to call upon Rendell and PennDOT to immediately reform the state's purchase card program, which he says has cost taxpayers $500 million since its inception in the 1996-97 fiscal year.

Over the past several years, PennDOT has been replacing its single-axle trucks, which are capable of hauling 8 tons of material, with larger and more powerful tandem-axle trucks, which are capable of hauling 16 tons.

PennDOT is also hoping to better manage salt supplies thanks to computerized salt spreaders that are calibrated to spread the same amount of salt regardless of how fast the truck is traveling.

PENNDOT began the widening and reconstruction of Route 202 in Tredyffrin and Upper Merion townships in March 1999 and completed it in stages under four separate construction contracts.
PENNDOT on August 6 opened the ramp from I-76 West to Route 202 South, the centerpiece structure to the new I-76/Route 202 Interchange.
PENNDOT is building these new ramps as part of the $280 million project to widen five miles of Route 202 from four lanes to six between North Valley Road in Tredyffrin Township, Chester County, and Gulph Road in Upper Merion Township.

My efforts to obtain a driver license from the PennDOT are still ongoing as of this date, in the form of administrative appeal, as evidenced by the more recent copies of correspondence I have enclosed.
Because I believe the actions of PennDOT constitute illegal discrimination and have no legal basis, I maintain that I still enjoy the same right to the road I always have since I first obtained a license 17 years ago.

Upon closer examination of PennDOT's recent road-building efforts, it is evident that the Route 41 project is part of a larger plan to complete a little-known 200 mile four-lane truck route connecting Wilmington, Delaware to Interstate 80 in Centre County, Pennsylvania.
