		A recent mode-coupling theory for the long time dynamics of flexible polymers based on an eigenfunction expansion of the diffusion equation is extended to treat nonequilibrium relaxations that occur during sudden transitions between two states.
		The theory is tested for the ``unfolding'' of pentadecane from a constrained all-trans state to a random-coil at 300K.
		The lack of time translation symmetry for nonequilibrium processes requires that \langle R_end^2(t) \rangle_neq is obtained from an average over a huge number of independent BD trajectories (9000 are necessary to obtain adequate convergence for pentadecane), rather than over the successive configurations from a single trajectory used to compute equilibrium time correlation functions.
