Pentagram (band) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Pentagram are a long-running American heavy metal band from Virginia, most famous as performers of Sabbathesque doom metal.
The band was quite prolific in the underground scene of the 1970s, producing many demos and rehearsal tapes, but did not release a full-length album until reforming in the early 1980s with an almost completely new lineup.
The band has been somewhat in limbo since due to Liebling's unstable behavior, including missing an important show at the 9:30 Club, forcing the band to recruit Hassalvander to perform in his stead.

Like all of us probably, we were kind of interested in the occult and dark side of things, but if you read the band's lyrics you'll see none of the typical satanic clichés like VENOM or SLAYER had on their first albums.
PENTAGRAM was a Death Metal band, no doubt about it, but as you can see we were never fixed on Death Metal as the only thing we listened to.
The style was very METALLICA influenced, and the band didn't last long, although we played a few songs and recorded two demos.

Pentagrams and Pentacles: silver, gold, inverted, with stones, doubles and rings
The pentagram is a widely recognized symbol for witchcraft, magick and sorcery.
All the gold pentagrams are forged from fine gold alloyed to the right karat and then rolled to the right thickness prior to piercing with a jewelers saw, a completely hand fabricated process.
Pentagram rings can also be made in any of the styles shown in the rings section of this website.

It is in that context that a listen to this compilation of Peaceville-issued material of Yankee Black Sabbath-worship band Pentagram leaves a decidedly ambivalent mark on his taste buds.
Of course respect is due the band for not only persisting since 1971, albeit intermittently, but also for not diluting or altering the progenitor's initial vision.
Pentagram could be the next Iron Maiden or Motörhead if the band keeps this up.

These are former members of the UK band Cathedral, which, of course, has no relation to any of the two American Art-Rock outfits of the same name, one of which had existed in the '70s, and another in the '90s.
Those on Pentagram's new album in particular are mainly the 'inner' dialog between a man and the incomprehensible outer world, strangely revealing itself in the appearance of a woman (which, however, isn't that strange from the Old Testament's standpoint and not only).
While not Pentagram's best effort ever, "Show Them How" is a very good album showing that the band and veteran Bobby Liebling in particular are still full of strength and inspiration to resist the stagnation, to say the least.

Ring Styles:Split Band and Signet Rings
Split Band Rings are band rings that split to a disk on which is soldered a symbol, The disk is usually textured, the symbol and shank (band of the ring), high shine.
The circle around the spiky chaosphere is texture finished, the chaosphere is flush soldered to the circle and both the band and the chaosphere are polished to a high shine.
This is yet another type of split band ring, which is highly adaptable to magickal alphabets (runes, hebrew letters, alchemical and zodiac symbols) because the symbol is cut into the top sheet of silver which is then flush soldered to the split band with disk.

On Halloween, 1978, after Joe's band, The Boys, broke up and PENTAGRAM was on hold, the two bumped into each other at a show that featured former members of both their bands.

An album of new recordings surfaced called Be Forwarned in 1993, but whatever stability the band had was all lost when members were constantly shed and the band shifted from Death row and Pentagram constantly, which led to yet another eventual split.

Most people automatically associate the pentagram with some sort of evil, or satan worshipers, but in the middle ages it was used at a symbol for warding off evil spirits, contrary to public ideas, it was actually used for the exact opposite of what most people think it's for.
