Another construction, derived from Western European classical music, begins with a major scale and omits the fourth and the seventh scale degrees: a C major scale is {C, D, E, F, G, A, B}, so omitting the F and B again results in the sequence {C, D, E, G, A}.
A minor version of the pentatonic scale is obtained by using the same notes as in the major pentatonic scale, but starting one step lower to obtain the tonic note; an A minor pentatonic scale is A, C, D, E, G: Missing image

Pentatonic melodies are, perhaps, closer to heaven, closer to the cosmos than those based on major or minor diatonic scales.
Pentatonic music can also be played on the white notes of the piano — for example by leaving out the notes C and F and only using D, E, G, A, B. Rudolf Steiner especially recommends this sequence for smaller children.

Regarding the form for each scale: I do not use the relative major or minor pentatonic scales in the same study but use (instead) the scale that would start at the same point on the guitar.
Each pentatonic scale in this study has two notes per string so the scales will correspond to the lower or the higher note on the string that has the root note on it.

In a pentatonic scale, the tones are arranged like a major scale with the 4th and 7th tones omitted, leaving you with these five notes — the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th.
In terms of improvisation, the scale usually used is a tonic major pentatonic scale or its relative-minor pentatonic scale.
For example, when playing over the Dmin7, combine the C major pentatonic scale forms IV and V. Think of it as one large scale form and try playing in a more random fashion, making use of the more “linear” possibilities now that there are three notes available per string.

 Pentatonic Myth - Flutetree.com
There are other makers that argue there 6-hole flutes are not pentatonic, because their primary scale includes an additional note that is perfectly in tune.
Whether it’s pentatonic mode plus a note, or Dorian mode minus a note, or the six note Raga Mahohari mode, such labels are attempts to contemporize the Native American Flute.
Of the 6-hole flutes, this configuration is probably easiest to teach the public how to play the minor pentatonic (mode 1) scale, i.e., "Just keep the 4th hole covered." One could say this was the beginning of modern cross fingering.
