One Percenters organize and wear their patches as the proverbial finger raised toward society’s expectations of them.
Furthermore, the One Percenter clubs are organized around the idea of a community, and their unconventional lives and motorcycle lifestyles are reinforced by the strong-as-steel bonds with other members.

In fact, most truck commercials are so good it's almost a slap in the face that GMC has chosen to buck the trend with their new Sierra "One-Percenter" ad campaign.
Or perhaps "One-Percenter" really refers to those who would rather feel like popcorn-fattened circus elephants than rampaging African rhinos.
GMC may make big, burly trucks, but has somehow forgotten that 'big and burly' is what sells people on them in the first place.

At the risk of sounding politically incorrect, perhaps it's time we realized that the top 1 percent of taxpayers are at least as deserving of tax relief as any other "Percenters." Without them, after all, there wouldn't be a surplus to argue about.

To get a true sense of the disparities they should look for homes of the upper one-tenth of one-percent whose average income is over $1,000,000 a year, the equivalent of the annual income of approximately 200 bottom ten-percenters.
And, of course, no top tenth of one-percenter can be expected to admit that their financial status has been augmented and underwritten by contributions to politicians who obligingly reciprocated by shifting the tax burden to people with far fewer resources to offer candidates.
There are generous humanitarians and genuine heroes among the top tenth of one-percenters, like Warren Buffett and Oprah, and students would do well to become acquainted with their lives also.

A term one-percenter was coined after a gathering of the American Motorcycle ‘Gypsy Tour’ on July 4, 1947.
When violence broke out the Motorcycle Association issued a statement saying that 99% of riders were respectable, pleasure riders and the other one-percent were troublemakers.
The reality is that all one-percent clubs are outlaw motorcycle clubs, but not all outlaw motorcycle clubs are one-percent clubs.

Tom Lindsay, the AMA’s Public Information Director, states “We [the American Motorcyclist Association] acknowledge that the term ‘one-percenter’ has long been (and likely will continue to be) attributed to the American Motorcyclist Association, but we've been unable to attribute its original use to an AMA official or published statement—so it's apocryphal.”
This ethic, colloquially referred to as “motorcycle club etiquette,” outlines acceptable member behavior given a wide variety of social contexts and dictates the deliverance of swift and severe sanctions to those who violate group and individual roles and responsibilities.
With due respect to Mark Watson and Daniel Wolf, who have reported that all outlaw clubs are one percenters, it is important to draw a sharp distinction between outlaw motorcycle clubs and one percenters.

Curvin was a "24-hour-a-day, 7-days-per-week" one-percenter, said Marty Warren, the group's regional spokesman.
