Percival Colin "Percy" Montgomery (born 15 March 1974 in Walvis Bay, then a South African possession and now part of Namibia) is a South African rugby player who currently plays as a fullback for the Springboks internationally, Natal Sharks domestically, and the Sharks in Super 14.
Montgomery earned his first Springboks cap in 1997, and had amassed 50 caps by the end of 2001.

Percy has been a loyal servant of SA rugby and a very solid player,but a great he most certainly isn’t and I would not include him in the company of Joubert/Heunis/Pienaar etc.These were players with that X factor that make them greats.
As for Percy … we are not saying he’s the greatest - we are simply debating the topic and asking the experts for their opinions.
Percy puts his heart into every match he plays and he might not be perfect (critisism of him under the high-ball is fair), but he’s still the best 15 we have, and when the rest of the team does their job and he can play his own game, then he consistently delivers.
