Albion - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Albion (in Ptolemy Alouion), is the most ancient name of Great Britain, though sometimes used to refer specifically to England.
The name is perhaps of Celtic origin or older, from the Proto-Indo-European root that denotes both "white" and "mountain", but the Romans took it as connected with albus (white), in reference to the chalk "White Cliffs of Dover", and Alfred Holder's Alt-Keltischer Sprachschatz (1896) unhesitatingly translates it Weissland ("white-land").

What is the "perfidious Albion"?. Thanks in advance | Antimoon Forum
Many people are unaware tha that "New Albion" is the name that Sir Francis Drake gave to present-day San Francisco when he landed there and claimed it for England in 1577.
I don't think that perfidy is a typical English (or British ?) trait, or do you guys who see us from the outside think otherwise?
By perfidious = treacherous the aristocratic Marquis of Ximenez perhaps meant that Britain did not support the French Revolution (or the American one!), whose aim was to liberate mankind!
