 The bull of Phalaris
This Phalaris burned to death Perilaus, the well-known Attic worker in bronze, in the brazen bull.
Perilaus had fashioned in bronze the contrivance of the bull, making small sounding pipes in the nostrils and fitting a door for an opening in the bull's side and this bull he brings as a present to Phalaris.
And as soon as Perilaus had crept in, to give an example, so he thought, of the sound of the pipes, Phalaris closes up the bull and heaps fire under it.

But instead of leaving her to die, the graverobbers take her as a slave and sail to Alexandria, where she is given to slave dealers.
Thus Perilaus becomes disconsolate, learning that Anthia's grave has been looted, and in the meanwhile Habrocomes, with Hippothoos, is making inquires about Anthia.

 Risk Frontiers
Since 1999 insurers and others have been using Risk Frontiers' PerilAUS software to determine the relative risk posed by natural perils in Australia across a range of spatial levels; usually Postcode, Local Government Area or CRESTA zone.
While natural hazard risk ratings at these scales are useful and widely used, some applications require more spatially-explicit risk ratings.
