Riguardo all'origine del manto nero nel perro de presa di Juan Canario, ritengo utile aggiungere che doveva essere in quel periodo altrettanto frequente del manto color bardino, fulvo, ecc., e che aveva radici molto antiche, tanto nei presa quanto nei cani da bestiame.
