Born in Oswego county, New York, in 1838, and moved with his parents at three years of age to McHenry county, Illinois, and settled on a farm, where he was raised and educated, and in August, 1862, married to Miss Martha Teabo, a native of Illinois.
Was married to Miss Rebecca Williams, June 25, 1853, a native of Champaign county, Ohio, and married in Auglaize county, by Jospeh Bidwell, justice of the peace.

Bruestle, came from Pennsylvania to Ohio in 1836, settled on a farm of 144 acres in Madison township; Montgomery county, and died in 1880, at the age of eighty-three years.
In Warren county he was married, and removed to Montgomery county in 1858, locating on the grounds now occupied by the soldiers' home, and there lived for nine years.
These newcomers first located in German township, Montgomery county, where the father successfully engaged in the pursuit of agriculture until 1874, when he found it to be to his interest to remove to Jefferson township, and here he has been engaged in farming ever since that year.

He received his education in the schools of the county, and after studying law at home for three or four years, he was admitted to the bar in May, 1882.
Perry is a native of the village of Kingham, Oxfordshire, England, born October 28, 1854, and received a collegiate education.

Moved to Emmitt County, Iowa, and lived there two years, then to Dickinson County, where he lived till 1875, when he moved to Red Oak; practiced there five years, then moved to Elliott, where he is now practicing with good success, in company with his son Fred.
Then moved to Clinton County, Iowa, and engaged in farming there for two years, and then came to Montgomery County, stopping for a short time in the city of Red Oak; then bought his present farm in Sherman township, on section 9.
His sister, Melinda, died in Scott County April 12, at the age of two years; his brother, F. Logan, is a soldier in the regular army, company I, fifth cavalry United States, now stationed at Fort Laramie; he was in the charge under Gen. Mills at the White River massacre.

RUFUS F. RICHART, druggist, was born in Watson Township, near Allegan, Allegan Co., Mich., September 26, 1850, living in the Township of Otsego until the spring of 1872, when he came to Kansas, first locating at Bunker Hill, Russell County.
While in Ohio he was a member of the A., F. Blue Lodge, Chapter and Commandery, and of the K. of P. Is a member of the firm of Putnam & Sapp, leading druggists of Cherryvale.

 Welcome To New Lebanon,
In 1806, Jacob Diehl patented land on the north side of the road in what was to become Perry Township.
He died in February of 1841 and is buried in a small cemetery in Perry Township.
Soon the neighboring townships assumed responsibility for local education, and New Lebanon pupils had a difficult time getting to school due to the lack of bridges across two local creeks, or roads leading to the school buildings.
