It is bounded on the north by Clay Township; on the east by Madison, on the south by Jackson, and on the west by Preble County.
Perry Township in politics is slightly Democratic, the vote being 235 Republican and 315 Democratic, thus giving to the Democrats a majority of eighty votes.
Jacob Wysong, of Virginia, came to this township prior to the war of 1812, and here he died; his son, Valentine, was born in Perry during that struggle against English oppression, and spent most of his life close to his birthplace, dying in Miami County in 1876.

 Crumrine - Cross Creek Twp.
The township of Cross Creek retained its original territory and limits until May, 1806, when a portion of it was taken to form the township of Mount Pleasant; and in 1853 the township of Jefferson was formed from the western part of Cross Creek, reducing the township to its present limits.
Robert Patterson, of Smith township, presided at that meeting, and the law was adopted by all the townships in the county, with five exceptions.
Cross Creek township was a separate justice's district from its erection in 1790 till the erection of election districts, May 4, 1803, when it became embraced with other territory in District No. 3, and so remained till 1838, when the office of justice became elective, and the township an independent district.

John Shauck returned to Pennsylvania on a visit, and the settlers being largely from the same locality, availed themselves of an opportunity to send letters to their friends more direct and with greater safety, than the mails of that day could offer.
His parents were natives of Pennsylvania, and came from Washington Co. of that State, and settled here in the Spring of 1816, raising his first, cabin on the 4th of July.
She is the second daughter of Peter and Deborah (Huntsman) Wirick, born in Perry Tp., Richland Co., on the 16th of September, 1826.
