The Pershing County Courthouse stands at the end of Main Street in Lovelock, Nevada.
The Humboldt County courthouse in Winnemucca was destroyed by a fire in 1917 and Lovelock, being approximately the same size as Winnemucca pushed to have the new courthouse built there.
Eventually the controversy reached the point to where a bill was introduced to split the county, it passed and Pershing County was born.

He was a WWII veteran, a one time president of the Pershing County Horseman's Association, a Lovelock Volunteer Fireman Department member and ambulance driver for 34 years, a member of the Pershing County Search and Rescue team for five years.
Hollingsworth was born in Lovelock on Oct. 15, 1924 to Edgar Ardent Hollingsworth and Ruth Davis Sullivan.
She was a graduate of Eureka County High School and attended UNR and U.C. Berkley.

A new occurrence for superb phosphate minerals has recently been discovered at the abandoned Willard open-pit mine complex near Lovelock, in Pershing County, Nevada.
Locally abundant specimens of large and well-crystallized wavellite, fluellite and minyulite are present in quartz crystal-lined vugs, along with other minerals including native selenium, and a suite of associated phosphates.

It is about 5,000 feet in diameter and has apophyses that extend beyond its margin.
