Sultan Ahmad willed his estate to his mother, eight wives and four especially favored children, but it is Prince Mirza's contention that the will is invalid under a rule of the Qajar dynasty, by which dynastic property automatically passes to the head of the family--which the Seattle man claims to be.
In addition to the New York property the deposed shah left a huge fortune scattered around England, France, Switzerland and Persia ---including, incidentally, most of the Persian crown jewels, which Prince Mirza contends to have been the property of the royal family and not of the country as a whole.
