 | | In the adoption of the unit, Tim McBride, Post commander, placed his yellow ribbons for members of the unit in the cities of Weiser, Payette and Fruitland as a constant reminder to the community of the service and sacrifice of these men and women. |
 | | The Payette Post still has four adopted units serving in Iraq: the 40th Transportation Company, the 145th Support Battalion (the Support Unit of the 116th Cav.), Company A, 3rd Battalion, 116th Calvary (Oregon National Guard activated from Ontario, OR) and the 2nd Battalion, 116th Cavalry (Idaho National Guard activated from Nampa, ID). |
 | | The community has been generous in its support, but has recently waned, and the Payette Post is having difficulty meeting the demands of providing that personal support for these units and their families. |
