Pete Wendling - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Pete Wendling (June 6, 1888 – April 7, 1974), an American composer and pianist, was born in New York City to German immigrants.
However, Wendling was also one of the top pianists of his era, and set a long-standing record when he appeared at the London Hippodrome for 8 consecutive weeks.
In 1925 QRS, who were tightening their belt due to declining sales, released Wendling, and he concentrated on his composing career until his retirement in the 1950s.

This neat blues appears on several piano rolls, including one by Pete Wendling on QRS and one by Roy Bargy on Mel-O-Dee.
Pete picks up the tempo about two-thirds of the way through, and leaves your head spinning by the time he's through.
Pete's version is much better than Edythe Baker's in my opinion: he has more down-home blues feel, and there's a nice solo verse after the singing is over.
