		Behrens’ erster verwirklichter Bau ist sein Wohnhaus auf der Mathildenhöhe bei Darmstadt, das er 1901 fertig stellt, und das zugleich Teil einer Ausstellung der Künstlerkolonie Darmstadt ist.
