Peter Bergman (born June 11, 1953) is an American soap opera actor.
The son of an American Naval officer, he was born in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
Bergman parlayed this success into a very successful Vicks Formula 44 cough syrup advertising campaign starting in 1986, in which he told the viewing audience, "I’m not a doctor, but I play one on TV."

Peter Bergman (born 1939 in Cleveland, Ohio) is a founding member of The Firesign Theatre.
Bergman claims to have coined the word "love-in" in 1967, and to have organized the first such event in April of 1967 in Los Angeles.
Bergman was a Eugene O'Neill playwriting fellow at Yale University, and has worked with Tom Stoppard, Derek Marlow, Piers Paul Read and Spike Milligan.
