  Peter Ewart - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Peter Ewart (May 14, 1767 - September 15, 1842) was a British engineer who was influential in developing the technologies of turbines and theories of thermodynamics.
Ewart took up an appointment with the Admiralty in 1835 and died as the result of an accident at the Woolwich Dockyard while inspecting machinery.

Peter Charles Archibald Ewart Jennings, OC (July 29, 1938 – August 7, 2005) was the lead news anchor for the ABC network from the 1980s to the 2000s.
Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Jennings was the son of Charles Jennings, the first news anchor and head of the news department at the CBC.
The special was hosted by Charles Gibson, who ended it standing in front of Jennings' empty anchor chair, giving way to a trumpeter, playing the ABC News division's theme music in the manner of a military bugler playing Taps; he did not play the final phrase, leaving the piece unresolved.

For examples, Peter gave an interesting insight into the lives and eventual deaths of three individuals in the Churchyard at St. Clements in Sandwich including a member of The Buffs who was drowned in The Stour at the beginning of WWI.
Here Peter focused on a member of the Gillows family (who also happened to be a keen cricketer at one time!) that had been murdered by another member of the local community and the circumstances surrounding the susequent trial.

Although I have been unable as yet to trace his birth certificate, his daughter Margaret told me he celebrated his birthday on 6th December, so for the time being that is all I have to go on.
John Peter Ewart married Johanna Grieve (nee MacCauliffe) on 10th September 1887 in a house at 15 Williamson St., Hobart.
Margaret was a witness at her sister Johanna's second marriage to John Ewart.

Peter has news of other contemporaries: Lyle McElderry is living on the west coast of Ireland (address unknown); Geraldine Brown (formerly Grover) is married with two girls and lives in London; Ros Thompson is married with a family and works part-time for BOC in Guildford; and Ian Bullock is doing well at the Bar.
Peter himself is married with two daughters and is just about to celebrate his silver wedding anniversary.
