Peter Paul can sue the Clintons
Peter F. Paul, the flamboyant Hollywood entrepreneur who says Hillary Rodham Clinton has hidden almost $2 million of in-kind contributions he made to her campaign in 2000, is back from Brazil and promising to raise a ruckus about the New York senator as he fights bizarre securities and bank-fraud charges on which he's been indicted.
The allegations themselves are not new: Two of the event's organizers, Hollywood producer Peter Paul and charity fundraiser Aaron Tonken, have detailed a series of transactions undertaken in conjunction with Hillary's campaign that could violate FEC regulations, with Paul charging that the campaign failed to report nearly $2 million he spent producing the event.
Shortly after going public with the allegations of wrongdoing by the Clintons, Peter was accused of participating in a criminal conspiracy regarding Stan Lee Media stock, the proceeds of which were used for expenses related to the Hollywood tribute to the Clintons.

SAO PAULO, Brazil (AP) -- Peter Blake, one of the world's most accomplished sailors who headed the New Zealand crew that won the America's Cup in 1995 and 2000, was shot and killed by river pirates during a robbery of his boat on the Amazon River in northern Brazil, police said Thursday.
After Blake won in 1995, Governor General Dame Cath Tizard said it was her country's proudest day since Auckland native Edmund Hillary became the first man to climb Mount Everest in 1953.
Blake was shot dead late Wednesday during a holdup aboard his 119-foot (36-meter) yacht, the Seamaster, anchored on the Amazon River in the northern jungle state of Amapa, some 1,600 miles (2,600 kilometers) north of Sao Paulo, said state police chief Rosilene Martins de Sena.

Peter Lombard, a theologian from the twelfth century, was born at Novara (or perhaps Lumello), in Italy, c.
Lombard, depending upon the works of Ambrose, Augustine and Hillary of Poitiers, cites scriptural evidence from both the Old Testament and the New Testament in support of the church's teaching on the Trinity.
In chapter three, quoting from Ambrose, Lombard says that the manner of the eternal, not the temporal generation of the Son from the Father is unknown to human intelligence, and in chapter 4, argues that the generation of the Son always is and is not to be understood as having occurred in the past.

In an op-ed column, Beinart warns against the coming attacks on Clinton’s character, and he sets the record straight about her ballyhooed “move to the center.” This is exactly what libs and Democrats should be doing—and they need to start doing it now.

Moreover, as our late friend John Wettergreen agued back in the 1980s, the logic of the FEC and several other agencies is toward "total regulation." Although the blogosphere would appear impossible for government to regulate or contain, the logic of their trying to do so is entirely consistent with how they already regulate political speech.

Mountaineers arrive for Everest bash - Sify.com
Ruggedly individualistic and more used to the solitude of wind-whipped rockfaces and forbidding peaks than noisy partying in Nepal's capital, the elite band is united on at least one front: they have all responded to what one of their number, Austrian Peter Habeler, described as "the human compulsion to climb on."
Sir Edmund Hillary, tired and ill from drinking "bad water" in India, arrived in Kathmandu in a wheelchair on Friday.
Habeler, who 25 years ago reached the summit with Italian Reinhold Messner to prove that the adventure can be completed without bottled oxygen, arrived in Nepal early May to lead a party of Germans on a trek from Lukla, in the northeast to Everest Base camp.

O'BRIEN: Peter Habeler, who summitted 20-some odd years ago Mount Everest without the aid of oxygen.
I mean, it was a really, really great thing in 1956 to climb Everest, and Hillary -- also of course his partner, they used some oxygen, OK. But then of course being able to train harder, being able to have better equipment -- I'm not talking about technical equipment.
HABELER: Well, you see, in campaigns -- this was 25 years ago, we were trying to climb the highest point on Earth without machines, without the technique, which was very important.

Printer version - Special update: Hillary goes West
Labor Leader Geoff Gallop was backing Derby-West Kimberley Mayor Peter McCumstie for preselection, but some mad factional deal that involved protecting an upper house MP in Perth resulted in Labor choosing local social worker Carol Martin, who now has the chance to become the state's first female aboriginal MP.
Bridge, as well as being an accomplished country and western singer (not that Hillary likes songs about trucks, dogs, the road and unfaithful wives), was a minister in the Burke, Dowding and Lawrence governments with a pet scheme to bring water from the Ord River to the state's south-west.
He had to fight long and hard to originally become an MP, the Court (the elder) government even changing the law in the 1970s to make it harder for blackfellas to vote in an attempt to prevent Labor winning the seat.
