Encyclopedia: England national rugby union team
Rugby union in Scotland is administered by the Scottish Rugby Union, a founder member of the International Rugby Board in 1886 with fellow Celtic nations Ireland and Wales.
Rugby in France had been growing steadily since the 1870s, and in 1910 they joined the Five Nations Championship but in 1932 they were forced out again due to poor organisation and accusations of professionalism.
Going into the Rugby World Cup of 2003 they were one of the favourites for the title and after some minor stumbles along the way they reached the final on 22 November 2003 when they beat Australia 20-17.

His account of Jackson's journey is a steadfastly idiosyncratic case study of innovation, focus and energy from the edge; "In giving himself something to watch, Peter Jackson has given the rest of us good cause to shake off complacency and start thinking about how to realise a few other 'impossible' goals."  EROS Association
Sadly, for Peter Jackson -- the rugby league star known to fans as the happy-go-lucky clown prince of the league -- he was never able to overcome the aftermath of the sexual abuse he experienced as a schoolboy at the Southport School on the Gold Coast in 1979 and 1980.
But Jackson was also a troubled man, who sought medical help numerous times to battle drug addiction and manic depression and, during treatment, told doctors about the sexual abuse he experienced in his youth.
Jackson was a brilliant sportsman, well liked by colleagues, fans and the media, but his tragic demise is just one example of what happens to many of the victims of child sexual abuse perpetrated by church and clergy officials every year.
