Kay appeared on stage at the Queen and Paul Rodgers concert at Manchester's MEN Arena (With Patrick McGuinness) and in Hyde Park in 2005 as a cabaret act both in his own right, and in the persona of Brian Potter.
Kay's Manchester Arena DVD has apparently attracted the most serious complaints due to the fact that the performance was of exactly the same material as released on his Bolton Halls disc just a year earlier — although the new version was in fact around half the length of the first, despite being labelled 'Special Edition'.
