Peter Lawson Jones is enjoying life as a Cuyahoga County commissioner.  He was appointed to the Board of Commissioners on Feb. 9, 2002, becoming the first African American Democrat among the 107 men and women who have held the post.
Jones is a home-grown politician.  He grew up in Glenville, the only child of Charles and Margaret (Diane) Jones.  His family moved to Shaker Heights when he was 14.  He recalls a happy, stable childhood.
When Jones' father passed away earlier this year, he said, he really missed having siblings to share memories of his dad.

Perhaps Peter doesn’t want to run on this ticket, or any ticket, but if he was interested, to pick Lee over Peter is an astoundingly poor decision.
