Interview with Margaret Cho and Peter Paige in Out Magazine
Paige split his time between his somewhat conservative father and stepmother and his ultraliberal mother, who worked in a women’s bookstore.
Although Paige and Cho are about as candid a duo as you’re likely to come by in Hollywood, both struggled with how to present their sexuality to the world.
Paige remembers that when he arrived in Los Angeles five years ago, people told him, “ ‘Don’t think that just because it’s 1997 you can come out of the closet.’ I was told this by actors, agents, managers, gay people.

Peter Paige Interview, Say Uncle, Queer As Folk, By Tim Nasson
While Paige lost out to Hayes for the role that Hayes won an Emmy for (and was nominated for six times), he isn’t crying.
In “Say Uncle,” A young artist (Peter Paige), desperate to replace the relationship he had with his recently relocated godson, is targeted by a neighborhood mom (Kathy Najimy) as a potential threat to the community – as a sexual predator.
Fortunately for Paige, “Say Uncle” was picked up by the gay distribution company, TLA Releasing, at the very first festival it which it was featured, and was a hit at every festival in which it played.

Paige is a talented guy but he needs a good director to give him some insights on how to step out of clichés and stereotypes and become at least a facsimile of a real human being.
Paige's acting is very good, but the character as writeen comes off as borderline psychotic and barely sympathetic, with his propensity toward denial and inability to comprehend possible implications of his own actions.
Peter Paige wrote, directed and cast himself in the lead and while the film presents the results of two people's misconceptions about each other quite well, the results are still often wobbly, somewhat misconstrued and wildly out of balance.

A native of West Hartford, CT, Paige was born in the summer of 1969, just one month before Neil Armstrong’s historic moon landing.
In 2000, Paige auditioned for the lead role of Michael Novotny, one of the central characters in a controversial new drama called “Queer as Folk.” Based on the groundbreaking British series of the same name, the show, which followed the lives of several gay characters, generated intense buzz even before it aired.
When Paul (played by Paige), is wrongly accused by a neighborhood mom (played by Kathy Najimy) of being a gay pedophile, all hell breaks loose and the community degenerates into a lynch mob mentality.

ROTTEN TOMATOES: Say Uncle (2006): Peter Paige, Kathy Najimy, Gabrielle Union, Peter Paige
Paige (known to most as a cast member from the cable TV series "Queer As Folk") is clearly audacious as he lends his sardonic observations about a clueless gay man's (Paige) penchant for bonding "innocently" with children as the judgmental world unfairly misunderstands his so-called reckless intentions.
Paige's gay artist Paul is compulsive in his quest to connect with kids yet we're expected to mull over the seriocomic effects of this empty soul's sympathetic fiber.
Paige jumps through hoops in getting the audience to ponder the consequences about a gay man's supposed innocence (common sense withstanding) in wanting to psychologically relate to minors.
