Peter Sarsgaard (born March 7, 1971) is a Golden Globe Award-nominated American actor.
Sarsgaard was born at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, but he admits to having a lifelong fear of flying and will only do so if absolutely necessary.
Sarsgaard has been in a relationship with actress Maggie Gyllenhaal since 2002; they announced their engagement in April 2006 and are expecting a child in late 2006.

Peter Sarsgaard is one of those actors that you see around quite a bit in movies, but you can’t really place him (Wasn’t that guy in ……..?).
I think it is high time that Mr Sarsgaard gets afforded the privilege of being the next leading man. Of course, he might be quite happy with his current status in Hollywood and the work he delivers is of an exceptional standard.
Next up for Sarsgaard is Flightplan, opening 23 September 2005 in the USA and co-starring Jodie Foster and Sean Bean.
