Stringfellows, at least in London, is not a nightclub it's a strip club - why are we not calling a spade a spade?
I decided to be bold and revert to the more precise description - a quick Google shows that the Paris club is the same as the London one...
After a quick look on the web I've discovered that it is now essentially a strip club (6 nights of the week), after having spent some time operating as a strip club for a couple of nights of the week and a nightclub for the rest of the week.

After all, Mr Stringfellow chose the location to build an upmarket club to bring 'London style and class' to Sheffield, and if one was serving chicken in the basket and scampi in the food section in 1969, it must have been a bit better than the fish and greasy chip type area it is now.
