 Spirit of Prayer: Old Studies
These life-affirming devotional messages were written in the seventeen century by Thomas Traherne.
If we have desperate needs we pray desperately, if we have doubts we come to Him with our doubts not pretending or donning masks in an attempt to appear stronger than we are.
It all begins with Him and He "draws us out by breathing Himself in" says Forsyth.

Theology Today - Vol 38, No. 2 - July 1981 - BOOK NOTES - The Struggle of Prayer
This well-organized study of the differences and convergences between mysticism and biblical personalism claims an indebtedness to Martin Luther, Richard Sibbes, 16th and l7th century Puritan preacher in England, and Peter Taylor Forsyth, British Congregationalist minister and theologian.
Its debt noted, it is impressive and delightful to see how widely and appropriately this book extends in its other sources: Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, Jacques Ellul, Brother Lawrence, Friedrich Heiler, Jonathan Edwards, Francois de La Fénelon, David Willis, Mother Basilea Schlink, and Thomas Merton among them.
For balance, though, Bloesch may well have attended more to the "struggle," "crisis," and "labor" elements than to the more comforting components of prayer.

 Bingham Genealogy - Bingham ancestors
Parish registers show that his father, Thomas Bingham, was baptized 4 August 1588 at the Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul in Sheffield and that his Grandfather, Thomas, born about 1555, married Maria Longley 26 January 1577/78 at the same church.
I then looked up every reference they quoted and found absolutely no support for the linkage between Thomas (1555) and Thomas (1535)." Richard C. Bingham, also a descendant of Erastus, claims to have found wills and other records proving that Thomas (1555) was actually born in Derby, son of Henry Bingham (1525).
Other members of this committee were John Taylor, Alanson Ripley, Brigham Young, Theodore Turley, Heber C. Kimball, John Smith, Don Carlos Smith, Elias Smith, Stephen Markham, and James Newberry.
