Peter Samuelsson and Markus Büttiker of the University of Geneva in Switzerland propose an update of the Hanbury Brown-Twiss experiment that would probe the pairs of electrons found in many superconductors.
In their 1950s experiment, Robert Hanbury Brown and Richard Twiss confirmed this prediction when they sent a beam of photons – which are bosons – through a beam splitter and measured the intensity of the two resulting beams.
They found that the intensities of these beams were ‘positively correlated’ – that is, the peaks in the signals coincided, showing that photons can indeed bunch together.
From 1974 to 1993, Dr. Twiss was on the Active Staff in the Department of Family Medicine at the Charles Camsell Hospital.
He obtained a diploma from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Great Britain in 1971 and received his license to practise medicine in Alberta in 1972.
Since 1993, he has been on the Active Staff in the Department of Family Medicine at the Royal Alexandra Hospital.
"Faster Than the Sun:" The Fairey Delta 2 The title "Faster Than the Sun" is from the excellent book of the same name by Fairey test pilot PeterTwiss and refers to the Delta 2's ability to outrun the rotation speed of the earth!
Performance of both the piloted Derwent version and the rocket launched models provided data which was rolled in the a subsequent development, the fabulous Fairey FD.2.
No doubt the success of the rocket launched test vehicles influenced Avro Canada to take a similar approach to proving some of the CF-105's design features.
Fairey test-pilot PeterTwiss flew the first FD2, WG774, on its maiden flight on 6 October 1954.
To try to retrieve matters the Ministry of Supply issued a specification for a supersonic research aircraft, and Fairey set about meeting this with a delta-winged aircraft designed for investigation into flight and control at transonic and supersonic speeds.
To improve the pilot's forward view during landing, taxiing and take-off, the cockpit and nose section could be hinged downwards by ten degrees.
All the film crew and the staff from Fairey Marine stayed here during the filming and PeterTwiss remembers that they were treated like royalty.
When Fairey Aviation sold, he joined Fairey Marine, and he was a natural choice for piloting one of the boats during filming.

The recognized absolute speed record passes the 1,000 mile per hour mark as company pilot PeterTwiss hits 1,132.13 mph in the Fairey Delta 2 research aircraft at Sussex, England.
In Operation Eldorado Canyon, 18 USAF F-111s flying from RAF Lakenheath in England are joined by carrier-based Navy aircraft in air strikes against Libya in response to state-sponsored terrorism.
At the world's first air meet in Reims, France, Glenn Hammond Curtiss becomes the first American to claim the recognized absolute speed record as he flies his Reims Racer biplane at 43.385 miles per hour.
The prototype Gannet AEW3 first flew on 20 Aug 58 in the hands of the Chief Test Pilot, PeterTwiss, and an order for 44 Gannet AEW Mk3's was placed with Fairey.
The Armstrong Siddeley Double Mamba ASMD1 engine provided 2950ehp and was basically two Mamba engines mounted side-by-side, linked to a common gearbox and driving contra-rotating, co-axial propellers - however, despite all this, the aircraft was underpowered.
To cope with the extra weight of all the equipment, a new version of the Armstrong Siddeley Double Mamba engine was introduced, the 112 engine which provided 3875ehp and produced what can only be described as a distinctive noise.
This is a list of aviation-related events from 1956: Events March March 10 - Lt Cdr PeterTwiss sets a new airspeed record in the Fairey Delta FD.2, also becoming the first person to exceed 1,000 mph.

A panel made up of Sir Dove-Myer Robinson, Ms Catherine Tizard, Mr Brenton Rule (of the Auckland Savings Bank), Professor Peter Bartlett (of the Auckland University School of Architecture) and Mr Greer Twiss.
Forty-two applications were received from around the country and the panel invited fourteen of these to submit further information and examples of previous work.
The council voted to hold a competition to select a work for the site.
Peter Wagner and Edwardo Silvoso are, on the one hand, at the forefront of promoting and organizing the "New Apostolic Reformation" where they are attempting to build a new foundation for the "church", and on the other attempting to implement this Lighthouse scheme that is supposed to benefit the cause of Christ.
Richard Twiss is spreading the doctrines of the New Apostolic Reformation and is endorsed by them.
We must not get involved in ecumenical movements that look like the world, act like the world, and instead of bringing the Word to the world are bringing the world to the world." Go here for a commentary on the full transcript of the "Word To The World" radio programs 541-550.
