 Astronomy & Space
Invented in the early 1800s by British mathematics professor Peter Barlow, it is a simple concave (negative) lens that, when placed between a telescope's objective lens or mirror and the eyepiece, amplifies the magnifying power of the instrument.
Perhaps the biggest benefit of a barlow is that it doubles the number of magnifications available to you, effectively doubling the number of eyepieces in your repertoire.
A barlow is very simple to use: It is inserted in place of the eyepiece, and the eyepiece is then inserted into the barlow.

Barlow was one of the foremost proponents of exceptionalism at this time, and the present and future greatness of America was the driving force behind his prose and poetry.
Barlow was, at first, out of place in the Yale environment; he was a farm boy at one of the premier schools of his time.
Barlow was always giving advice to anyone who would listen, partly because he thought he had something important to say and partly because he had a firm faith in the ability of people to respond correctly when they understood the choice they have.
