  Orson Welles - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Welles was born in 1915 in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
Welles made his first plays while at the Todd School and was brought under the guidance of the principal, Roger Hill, who became a surrogate father to Welles.
Welles' exile from Hollywood and reliance on independent finance meant that many of his later cinema projects were filmed in a piecemeal fashion and some were not completed at all.

Peter Wells has maintained a close connection with Ireland over many years and has commissioned and premiered new works for recorder by a number of Irish composers, both as a soloist and with the Dublin-based ensemble Vox21 with whom he has worked extensively, both in Ireland and abroad.
Peter Wells taught recorder at university level for a number of years and has tutored workshops in solo and chamber music at home and abroad.

When Peter’s family moved to California from his birthplace of Paoli, Pennsylvania, they landed in La Canada, 30 miles inland from the Pacific.
Although academics was his primary focus, the fact that sailing was a varsity sport at UC-Irvine was a big part of the equation, and over the next four years he was named an ICSA All-American three times.
He dedicated himself to his Olympic campaign and a year later he was the top-ranked male windsurfer in the USA — a position he has not relinquished since.

This is (as far as I know) the only US release by the slide-guitar wizard Peter Wells.
Wells is fairly well known to audiences down under, as a member of the legendary Aussie rock band Rose Tattoo and solo, having been the opening act for everyone from Dylan to the Stray Cats.
That said, this is a roots album in the style of the more upbeat Dylan, lots of slide (of course) and a blues band.

Faculty of Pharmacy researcher Peter Wells is trying to determine why certain drugs cause birth defects and how these defects can be prevented.
"It has been estimated that up to 75 per cent of human fertilized eggs and embryos die before birth, and perhaps four per cent of children born have at least one birth defect," says Wells, whose work is funded by the Medical Research Council of Canada and the Hospital for Sick Children Foundation.
Wells has found that the developing embryo has an enzyme called prostaglandin synthase which converts some drugs to highly toxic products that damage or "oxidize" critical genes.

Although Richard Marschall in The World Encyclopedia of Comics (edited by Maurice Horn, Chelsea House Publishers, 1976) says that "Peter Wells worked on the art" (98), Tim Samuelson has learned from Sattler that Wells did not work on the art.
Sattler worked on the art and Johnson himself wrote the words.
