The city of Peterborough also maintains the Peterborough Sports Hall of Fame in the arena, and while a "Hall of Fame" in most OHL cities entails a few portraits on the wall or something similar, in Peterborough they have a full-sized museum.
In addition, Peterborough is as "promotion-heavy" as any OHL building I've been to, and while their promotions announcer is decent, it's a shame for a team as historic as the Petes to play in an atmosphere where they seem like the sideshow at times.
The Peterborough Memorial Centre underwent a massive renovation over the summer of 2003, which guarantees that Petes hockey will remain in the PMC for years to come.

Bill Juby, who oversaw the Memorial Centre renovation project for council, admitted the projections were always seen as "optimistic" but said even if the arena doesn't reach its projected revenue goals, it will still be affordable for taxpayers.

There was upwards of 900 veterans seated on the pad area at the Memorial Centre.
Once the party was settled onto the dias the General Salute, the Royal Anthem and O Canada were played followed by the chaplain leading all assembled in prayer which was immediately followed by the Lord’s Prayer.
