		Pewsey has had a new white horse since 1937, but it once had a much older one.
		The horse was on Pewsey Hill about a mile south of Pewsey, to the east of the minor road that leads from the A345 on the edge of Pewsey to the village of Everleigh.
		The Pewsey horse was scoured in 1789, and this was probably the first and last scouring, as the landowner objected to the festivities which accompanied it and refused to allow it again.

		The latest quirky fundraiser for Pewsey Carnival is an 11-seater bike ride that will follow the River Avon from Pewsey to the sea at Christchurch, Dorset, on August Bank Holiday weekend.
		The riders will follow the River Avon from Pewsey to Christchurch - a route which has previously been done by the Zixex Club, on foot and also rowing down the river - "Now we’re doing exactly the same route with a pushbike," said Tony.

		In 1961, Pewsey Vale's then-owner, Geoffrey Angas Parsons, became aware that his property had once incorporated the region's earliest vineyard and he wasted no time in paying a visit to his good friend Wyndham Hill Smith of Yalumba with a proposal to restore the Pewsey Vale vineyard.

	Pewsey White Horse
		The horse can be seen from many places along the A345 near Pewsey Village and the south of the village itself, but the best view is from the Pewsey to Everleigh road below Pewsey hill.
		The Figure can be visited from the top of Pewsey hill where there are footpaths leading to the horse and places where a car may be parked although not designated parking places.
		The number 1937 was added to the turf above the figure to alleviate the difficulty in ascertaining the date of construction, as was his problem with several of the other figures.

	Kings Korner Band - Pewsey, Wiltsthire, UK
		The Kings Korner Band was established at the time of the first Pewsey Carnival Procession in 1898 and consisted of villagers playing tin whistles, mouth organs, even comb and paper.
		Originally based at the Coopers Arms near King’s Corner, a junction where King Alfred is reputed to have stopped en route to Winchester, the band moved to The Phoenix in the centre of Pewsey where it remained for twenty years.
