March Air Reserve Base - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
March Air Reserve Base is a base of the U.S. Air Force Reserve located in Riverside County, California, between the cities of Riverside and Moreno Valley.
The land no longer needed as a result of the downsizing was given to the March Joint Powers Authority, a commission that represents the county and the base's adjoining cities.
In 2004, it was announced that air freight giant DHL was considering the base for its new Southern California hub; however, competition from nearby San Bernardino International Airport and Ontario International Airport, as well as opposition from residents of fast-growing Riverside and Moreno Valley, reduced the viability of its bid.

It should be noted that whenever Peyton goes to the hospital for whatever reason other than a quick clinic checkup, he is immediately admitted to the ICU and has never been assigned a regular hospital bed or room in his whole life.
Peyton is a darling little boy trapped in a body he can’t control.
His position, based on periodic direct personal evaluations of Peyton’s very fragile condition, is that 16 hours per day of skilled home nursing care supplemented with 8 hours per day of lesser family provided care is the minimum that would be acceptable given the risk levels of the patient.

March Field in Riverside, California, was important in the development of the Army Air Corps, serving as the key training and bombardment facility on the West Coast between 1928 and 1943.
March continued to be the central base for West Coast bombing and gunnery training until 1941.

Peyton Conway March (1864-1955) served as U.S. Army Chief of Staff during the final year of the First World War and worked to transform its effectiveness in modern war.
March spent four years from 1903 working on the General Staff, and was sent as an observer during the 1904-05 Russo-Japanese War.

West Point in the Making of America
March reorganized the general staff, bolstered logistics, established new technical branches to reflect the new kind of war—Air Service, Tank Corps, Motor Transport Corps, and Chemical Warfare Service—and, above all, orchestrated manpower mobilization to create the mass army that industrial warfare required.
Recalled to Washington as the army’s chief of staff in March 1918, March held an expansive view of his authority.
Commissioned in artillery after graduation from West Point, March proved an able combat commander in the Spanish-American and Philippine Wars, repeatedly cited for gallantry and recommended for the medal of honor.

Once Upon a Life - C-section after a vaginal delivery
If I had a scheduled c-section, then I could fly my mom up here a day or two before and Peyton could stay with her (my mom is planning on flying up as soon as the baby is born anyway).
There is one lady that Peyton just LOVES so maybe I'll talk to her about it and see what she says.
We also did a test run with her about 2 months before Mary's due date so she would be familiar with the house and know where everything is since there was a chance we wouldn't be there when she came.

Historic Posts, Camps, Stations and Airfields: March Air Reserve Base
As part of the Air Force's realignment and transition, March's two Reserve units, the 445th Airlift Wing and the 452d Air refueling Wing were deactivated and their personnel and equipment joined under the 452d Air Mobility Wing on April 1, 1994.
From the dusty stubble that once was Alessandro Flying Strip to today, March, for over 70 years, has been a key element in the advance of aviation and in the growth of the modern Air Force.
On February 26, 1918, Garlick and his crew and a group of mule skinners from nearby Colton, known to be experts in clearing land as well as for their colorful syntax, began the task of excavating the building foundations at Alessandro.

Daily Gusto: Looking at Elizabeth Peyton
Peyton's work is an image of an image, and what she finds most compelling isn't the subject matter (Kurt Cobain the human being) or the painting itself (Kurt Cobain as a subtext for painterly accomplishment) but rather the style of representation (Kurt Cobain as icon).
I feel compelled to write about Peyton because in many ways she's teetering on the edge of dueling ideas about what art is. The pseudo-social science-influenced humanities, coupled with market pressures, have lured artists into thinking of their oeuvre first, and their actual paintings second.
The Whitney website says "her quietly familiar depictions erode the anonymity of typical media images." Peyton is a painter whose subject is the media, and her way of eroding the anonymity of corporate images is to do bad paintings of celebrities.

 LEO -- Louisville Eccentric Observer
Metalious biographer Emily Toth says: “The perceptions in ‘Peyton Place’ are unusual for 1956: that wife-beating is not inevitable; that rape is an act of violence, not sexual pleasure; that abortion can mean saving a life — the mother’s.
Somehow, in those lazy summer days before regimenting children’s lives was in vogue, I stumbled across a copy of “Peyton Place” and lounged in the backyard reading it.
Many years later, I understood that it was probably not the sex or bad words in “Peyton Place” that raised folks’ hackles.

 CNNSI.com - SI Online - This Week's Issue of Sports Illustrated - Thank you Peyton - Thursday March 22, 2001 01:25 PM
After he announced his decision, this is what Peyton Manning heard most from people: "Congratulations." That and, of course, "Thank you" from love-struck Tennessee football fans, shocked that Manning would return to quarterback their Volunteers for another autumn, when it seemed so certain he would leave for the NFL.
Former NFL quarterback Archie Manning, Peyton's father-friend-adviser and about as connected as anyone when it comes to football, turned over a cartload of rocks looking for information and didn't find enough to satisfy Peyton.
By electing to play a fourth season of college football instead of accepting many millions of dollars as the probable first pick in the NFL draft, Manning was perceived by many as seizing some high moral ground and planting his personal flag in it.
