Mr Petrie, who completed the journey with his friend Peter Vince, hopes to raise £12,000 for wheels4freedom to buy electric wheelchairs for war veterans. |
 | | The nine-day journey from Pfetterhouse in Switzerland to Nieuwpoort in Belgium took the pair through the notorious battlefields of Verdun, the Somme and Flanders and Ypres. |
 | | Mr Petrie, who has cycled 8,000 miles and raised £80,000 with Mr Vince for the Macmillan Fund, Help the Hospices and the Prostate Cancer Charity, said it was the toughest ride he has embarked on. |
