 | | A well-used phaser (wide beam and all that) is better, as is a laser you can sweep around instead of just firing single shots, as are most Schlock Mercenary energy weapons, but I'd rather have a gun than a blaster or a standard SF raygun. |
 | | As an energy weapon calliber could be set or reset, by changing the focussing optics, again back to logistic, you don't have to keep a lot of bullet for different calliber of guns, just use the same space to keep the power packs. |
 | | Two, that sort of weapon would kill whomever fires it.:D Three, it's already being shown that the tactic of wounding soldiers in order to bog the enemy down with wounded is not viable for the reason that only wounding a soldier doesn't stop them from being a continuing danger while they're still in battle. |
