Phasor (electronics) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A phasor is a constant complex number representing the complex amplitude (magnitude and phase) of a sinusoidal function of time.
Phasors are used in engineering to simplify computations involving sinusoids, where they can often reduce a differential equation problem to an algebraic one.
Thus, the phasor Y is the constant complex number that encodes the amplitude and phase of the sinusoid.

Often used as voltage dividers in electronic circuits, the input voltage is applied to the top of the resistive element, while the other end is tied to ground or a common reference and the output is taken from the slider.
Propagation delay is caused most often in analog electronics by phase delay in filter networks, and in digital electronics by computational delay in microprocessors and DSP devices, as well as data conversion.

This has an effect on the phasor diagram and on the measurements that must not be ignored.
To draw a phasor diagram, you need a straightedge and scale, a protractor, two triangles for drawing parallel lines, and dividers for transferring distances.
The phasor diagram can be measured to find these results, which are, of course, the same as we find by complex analysis.

Category:Electronics - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Electronics is the study and use of electrical devices that operate by controlling the flow of electrons or other electrically-charged particles in devices such as thermionic valves and semiconductors.
The pure study of such devices is considered as a branch of physics, while the design and construction of electronic circuits to solve practical problems is part of the fields of electrical engineering, electronic engineering and computer engineering.
The main article for this category is Electronics.

 Power in ac circuits.
The principal advantages to the electronics engineer lie in writing down the equations with a great deal more compactness; in making many numerical shortcuts in handling voltage current and power in circuits having both resistance and reactance; and in gaining insight into creative circuit methods of handling alternating signals.
In determining the average power dissipated we intrinsically assume the average is taken over a whole number of cycles of the ac signal.
Replacing the quantity Zi by the complex voltage phasor v, we see transparently that the power dissipated is Re[vi*/2].

Assuming that the phase angle of the distortion phasor from A1 is zero, the suppression of the final distortion phasor with respect to the original distortion phasor is given by 20log[sin (Φ/2)].

This is really all there is to a flanger - a time delay that can be modulated a bit, and a mixer to add the delayed signal back to the original or dry signal.
The capacitor also contributes its current, so the two are added at the output node, and since the OTA also reversed the phase of the signal it processed, it looks like it came through an ordinary resistor that was connected to the mirror image of the input signal.
Magnatone used either one or two stages of this, depending on the amp, and never did the addition of the dry signal that would have made it into a true phase shifter.
