On the surface, the story deals with the suicide of self-made billionaire, Troy Phelan, who proceeds to write all of his known heirs out of his final will, and leaves 11 billion dollars to an unknown illegitimate child (now a missionary living on the border between Brazil and Bolivia with an Indian tribe).
