The one exception is Phelsuma andamanense, which is endemic to the Andaman islands in the Bay of Bengal.
The genus Phelsuma was first described by the British zoologist John Edward Gray in 1825 and named after the Dutch physician Murk van Phelsum.
Two Phelsuma species (Phelsuma gigas and Phelsuma edwardnewtoni) are now considered to be extinct, probably due to the destruction of their environment by human settlers and their domestic animals.

Phelsuma klemmeri is just in 1990 described by Robert Seipp based on 14 specimens whom he brought with him out of Madagascar for research at the Senckenberg Instituut (Germany).
Phelsuma klemmeri lives in the bamboo woods of the Sambirano-area in Northwest-Madagascar.
Phelsuma klemmeri belongs with his length of 85-90 mm to the smaller species.

This is the 1st egg I've noticed from her, I'm very pleased that shes laying but a bit disappointed that she ate it.
I have had a bottle lid of crushed cuttlefish bone with a sprinkling of Zoomed daygecko powder in the viv all the time for her to help herself whenever needed and I also put a sprinkling in the babyfood once a week, so I dont think there is any shortage of Calcium.
Phelsuma madagascariensis grandis and other larger species of Phelsuma have been known to sexually mature at a later date than the medium and small day geckos.

Bottom substrate should be made up of a layer of tiny pebbles at least 1/2 inch (1.3 cm) thick for drainage, followed by a 1.5 inch (3.8 cm) layer of peat moss or Styrolite-free potting soil.

The horizontally situated vivarium with a rocky interior should be maintain as a high tropical vivarium, no lower than 65% humidity and best in the 70% with peaks in the 80%.
Next, light intensity during the day is incredible where the barbouri is from, interrupted occasionally by clouds.

But after a month or so, good friends asked me if I would like to buy their sons lizards because he would move to Mallorca.
He didn't know the exact spieces, all he could tell that the larger green one was a phelsuma (I knew a Day Gecko).
With the knowledge I had then I knew that it had to be both Phelsuma's: the small one Phelsuma Barbouri and the larger green one is still a mystery but definitly a Day Gecko.

I am probably going to be setting up a display tank with a P. barbouri in it for a back corner in the bio lab I will be interning in.
The gecko will be well cared for, but right now, I need to understand exactly what that means to these guys.
