I have not read this, but maybe it have something to do with last years studys on Phelsuma DNA, were Phelsuma guimbeaui and Phelsuma rosagularis are far from oneother.
Surprisingly but in agreement with data from Peter Sound Phelsuma guimbeaui and Phelsuma rosagularis were more distantly related than for example Phelsuma guimbeaui and Phelsuma ornata.
Phelsuma inexpectata was re-classified earlier by Probst et al.
