		Phelsumas have toe pads consisting of tiny lamellae which allow them to walk on plain surfaces like bamboo or glass.

		Members of the genus Phelsuma are diurnal (active during the day), while most other members of the family Gekkonidae are active only at night (nocturnal).

		I have not read this, but maybe it have something to do with last years studys on Phelsuma DNA, were Phelsuma guimbeaui and Phelsuma rosagularis are far from oneother.
		This would interest me because I raise Phelsuma madagascariensis madagascariensis and a few years ago (due to ignorance) paired a Phelsuma madagascariensis kochi female with a Phelsuma madagascariensis madagascariensis male.
		Phelsuma inexpectata was re-classified earlier by Probst et al.

		In this study, we use these tests to investigat the patterns of trait variation among populations of the ornate day gecko (Phelsuma ornata) and its close relative, the Manapany day gecko (Phelsuma inexpectata), in the Mascarene islands.
		In the case of Phelsuma, this explanation is supported by the observation that offshore Mauritian islands tend to have fewer species (either one, as on IAA, GQ, GAB, FI, or two on IAB and RI).
