PHENYL MERCAPTAN (Partially Validated Method #2075)
Phenyl mercaptan is regenerated from the mercuric phenyl mercaptide, formed during sampling, by treatment with hydrochloric acid.
Phenyl mercaptan is used as a chemical intermediate, solvent, and as an insect larvicide.
Exposure to phenyl mercaptan causes restlessness, then increased respiration, incoordination, muscular weakness, skeletal muscle paralysis of the hind limbs, cyanosis, lethargy and/or sedation, respiratory depression, followed by coma and death.

  Phenyl-Based Silicones - Clearco Products
High phenyl content fluids are utilized as heat exchange fluids, dielectric coolants, and base oils for high temperature fluids.
With the introduction of phenyl groups into the polysiloxane, oxidation resistance, thermal stability and shear resistance are enhanced.
Low viscosity phenyl fluids (DPF-7040 and DPF-7050) are formulated for use as diffusion pump fluids.

 Dibutyl Phenyl Phosphate
Before a worker is placed in a job with a potential for exposure to dibutyl phenyl phosphate, a licensed health care professional should evaluate and document the worker's baseline health status with thorough medical, environmental, and occupational histories, a physical examination, and physiologic and laboratory tests appropriate for the anticipated occupational risks.
Clothing contaminated with dibutyl phenyl phosphate should be removed immediately, and provisions should be made for the safe removal of the chemical from the clothing.
Dibutyl phenyl phosphate is not subject to EPA emergency planning requirements under the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act (SARA) (Title III) in 42 USC 11022.

 Hypersil Phenyl Columns-Thermo Scientific
Hypersil Phenyl columns offer 'alternative' selectivity compared to alkyl chain phases due to pi-pi interactions from the benzene ring, which makes them a good choice for compounds typically considered difficult to analyze.
Hypersil Phenyl is a non endcapped stationary phase, and has unique properties for analysis of aromatic compounds and moderately polar compounds.
The phenyl modification also permits the use of the columns under normal phase LC conditions.
