Plans for a major revamp of Phibsboro Shopping Centre have been appealed to An Bord Pleanála by local residents and the developer, which says that conditions attached to planning approval will jeopardise the commercial viability of the plan.
The amendments to the scheme imposed by the council are "so significant as to jeopardise the commercial viability of the scheme", the developer stated in a letter to the board.
The proposed scheme involves the centre almost tripling in size with the addition of 5,000 sq m (53,819 sq ft) of retail space to the existing 2,500 sq m (26,909 sq ft) of space.

 Cocaine seizure in Phibsboro, Dublin, 3.10.05
Gardaí have arrested four people following the discovery of drugs in a premises at Phibsboro Road, Dublin, last night, 3rd October 2005.
The planned search resulted in the arrest of four people (three men and a woman), following the discovery of 900g of cocaine in pellet form, 300g of crack cocaine in rock form and other drugs paraphernalia.
The operation was carried out by the Drugs Unit attached to Store Street Garda Station.

AV 445, the final AV in the batch for Phibsboro was delayed in delivery, so RH 121 was retained, mainly operating route 121 and 172 for the final few days.
When ME 42 was withdrawn at Phibsboro, the route reverted to double decker operation and usually was allocated one of the elderly Olympians from the batch
The green trim was succeeded by a new lime green and grey trim with the Olympians delivered in 1993 onwards and now with Phibsboro and Summerhill RH's withdrawn, only RH 138-153 (September 2005) remain with the green interiors.

So the seeds were sown, and the Phibsboro dojo opened, with no mats to begin with, it was tough to keep students and the interest in Aikido going.

Four schools shared the eight titles competed for in the Dublin and District Primary Schools League 2004: St. Mary's of Clondalkin, St. Peter's of Phibsboro, St. Pius X of Terenure and the Educate Together School from Celbridge in Co. Kildare.
In the U11 Girls Division 1, St. Mary's from Clondalkin narrowly beat St. Kevin's from Kilnamanagh in the final: 6-5 the final score of what was one of the most enjoyable school match of the season.
Last but not least, St. Peter's of Phibsboro came away with two U11 titles, the boys and the girls both winning Division 2.

The unsavoury incidents which took place on the streets of Phibsboro before last Friday’s Dublin derby between Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers were organised on the internet, a newspaper report has claimed today (Tuesday).
A front-page report in the Evening Herald newspaper claims that hardline supporters of the clubs involved, known as Casuals and Ultras, organised the confrontation in internet chatrooms earlier in the week.
