Phil Bennett (born October 24, 1948) was a (A Celtic language of Wales) Welsh (additional info and facts about Rugby Union) Rugby Union fly half from 1969 to 1978.
Initially, Phil played in a number of positions including fullback and centre, but settled in the fly half position in 1972.
Bennett retired from Rugby Union in 1978, having won a total of 29 caps.

Bennett, a native of Marshall, Texas, served the past two seasons in the same coaching capacity for Texas A&M. Prior to A&M, he had spent four years at LSU, the last three as the assistant head coach and defensive coordinator.
From 1987 through 1990, Bennett was the defensive coordinator at Purdue, and he had served in the same role during the four previous seasons (1983-86) at Iowa State University.
Bennett had arrived at Iowa State after one campaign (1982) at TCU where he served as a graduate assistant coach for the Horned Frog offense.
