It is some twenty years since Austin made a small sports car but the “Sprite” lives up fully to the fine tradition established in the 1920's and 30's and more recently by the Austin Healey 100.
With the introduction of the Sprite, Austins are opening a new era in the sports car field, as not since 1938 has a small sports car been made by the Company.
Today the Austin Motor Company makes motoring history with the announcement of a completely new small and inexpensive sports car.

Sadly, "Small Soldiers" is the last film Phil Hartman made before his life was tragically cut short last May. He was a very talented comic actor.
On the live action side, "Small Soldiers" stars 16-year-old Kirsten Dunst ("Interview With The Vampire"), with Phil Hartman and Wendy Schaal as her parental units.
Basically, "Small Soldiers" is "Toy Story" and "The Gremlins" crammed into a blender and set on puree.

 Land Board Minutes June 1999
Cleary summarized by saying the net result of these rules will be a standard lease, improved equity between small and large, urban and rural, seasonal and year round marinas, and reduced rates for fish processors and extensions of uplands.
Cleary noted that though some individual lessees will experience a doubling of rates, this is due to the extremely low rates in the past where volume discounts were given for the more acreage leased.
Cleary said the rate was originally proposed at two cents per square foot for marina/moorages with log rafts at one cent per square foot.

Music: Letters at 3AM (Austin Chronicle . 08-18-97)
It is only when you remember this that you can understand the origins and full force of the songs and the stance of Phil Ochs and the comparatively small number of people who made his generation memorable.
Phil Ochs recorded for only 11 years (1964-1975), but those years were brutally intense: a sinful war, murderous race riots, soul-numbing assassinations, filthy political struggles, a president resigning in disgrace, and heroic but often childish efforts at liberation rife with tremendous victories (in civil rights) and humiliating defeats (the anti-war movement).
The paradox of Phil Ochs was that his death was probably some of both.

When Gramm ran for the 1996 Republican presidential nomination, his sometimes abrasive personality came back to haunt him in the early contests in small states where personal contact with voters can be crucial.
Gramm's press secretary, Larry Neal, expressed what is doubtless the senator's self-image: "There will always be a Horatius-at-the-gate element to him." Horatius was a legendary Roman hero who, with two lone companions, held an invading Etruscan army at bay.
Gramm's apparent lack of concern about irritating his colleagues has been the dominant characteristic of his years in Congress.
