Philip Rivers Davis (born December 7, 1952) is an Australian politician.
Davis was born in the rural town of Maffra, but attended the elite Brighton and Geelong Grammar Schools in Melbourne and Geelong respectively.
Davis had joined the Liberal Party in the 1970s, soon rising to become the president of his local branch of the Young Liberal Movement.

Philip J. Davis is an American applied mathematician.
He is known for his work in numerical analysis and approximation theory, as well as his investigations in the history and philosophy of mathematics.
Among the best known are The Mathematical Experience (with Reuben Hersh), a popular survey of modern mathematics and its history and philosophy; Methods of Numerical Integration (with Philip Rabinowitz), long the standard work on the subject of quadrature; and Interpolation and Approximation, still an important reference in this area.

Philip J. Vogt, a professor and senior surgical pathologist at the UC Davis School of Medicine and Medical Center, died today in Sacramento from heart-related problems.
He joined the Department of Pathology at the UC Davis School of Medicine in 1986 after working at the Naval Regional Medical Center in Oakland and the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Martinez, California.
Among his many teaching duties at UC Davis were as director of the pathology residency training program in the School of Medicine and as a lecturer in courses on systemic pathology and nephrology.
